I have seen only a couple of wild-caught texas dbts. So I don’t know if the captive-breds are pure texans. I have seen blue-headed wild-caughts, not slate sort of bluish really gray bluish if you hold them up to the light and squint just right hop on one foot and count til you’re cross-eyed blue, but blue. At least that’s how I remember them. Had two once upon a time. I think we all ought to meet together and start at the north end of the range and check out dbts in their habitat all the way to the southern end of their range and take lots of pictures.
