Vickie Florida allows you to keep 2 DBs without a permit. I have a special possession permit which allows me to keep 14. I would like to get it amended so that I could keep a total of 20 but it is a lot of work trying to persuade the right people. I’m not sure how easy it is to get the permit now because I got the permit when they became protected in the state. The other tricky matter is getting the turtles if they allow me to get them. I must get them from out of state from a breeder or legally collected with all receipts. You need all paper work if you get an inspection, which they do from time to time. I keep a lot of other reptile that require permits, so they usually come out once a year can trade, purchase or receive as a gift the turtles but they must not be bought within the state. It would also give me the opportunity to breed mine again. I only have 1 adult true Ornate now, with the rest being the Carolina Ornates. Take Care Dave
