Wet/dry allows the water to overflow out ofthe tank and flow through extensive filtrate substrate into another tank or container. A pump then returns the water to the tank. There are many varieties of these filters and sizes. mine pumps 400gph and was bought used for 30 dollars. 🙂 BBM
