Vickie, I’m curious what signs you are looking for? Do you hold them up to the light and look for something? I have had only one scary incident with the littlest and cutest of my dbt’s. I was experimenting with a kitchen rack as a ramp for the basking spot. The rack is criss crossed wires. I came home one evening and she had her head stuck in the square hole of the rack and she was under the water and not moving at all. My heart sank 🙁 But, alas, when I spread the wires apart she quickly swam to the bottom of the tank. I quickly snatched here from the bottom of the tank and brought her out of the tank so she could quickly get some air. Needless to say that wire mesh ramp was removed from the tank. If she was dead I wouldn’t have know how to recuscitate. Now I will know – Thanks for that info! Okay suspend here tilting down in a cool place or pull the hind legs in and out for two hours. Bob
