If it’s white underneath, it sounds like it’s healing, instead of bloody. The fact that he’s eating is a great sign. I find this happens usually from getting banged, usually in wild caught turtles. I’m definitely not a vet, but I’ve been told that ointments and antibiotics can hinder healing (please don’t jump all over me if I’m wrong).
