Where was the conference? Can you share more details or samples of the information shared? I am interested in learning more about the terrapin farming for food use at the turn of the 20th century. I am an agricultural historian by profession so it interests me from that angle, but I am also wondering if the “farming” then was based on successful “captive” breeding programs or more on just capturing and holding large numbers of DBTs for shipment? If the terrapin farmers were successfully breeding captive populations is there any information from that era that would help with propagation and conservation of DBTs today? Just curious.
