I don’t know how far down the wood is, but I have occasionally brought turtles back from being completely limp from pneumonia. Just keep the wood turlte warm (82F+/-). The Baytril is great for the bacterial infections and would be excellent for preventing any secondary bacterial infection in Tex. But the fungus will probably need to be removed every couple days until new shell growth prevents it from returning. A regular soak after the fungus is removed will help. You may want to increase the salinity of your housing water if you have not already. If you do not want to soak him then treat the local area with a more concentrated form of betadine, nolvasan, acriflavine, malachite green, methylene blue or other anti-fungal or anti-infective.
