Thanks for the additional details, Scott. I remembered to check your article on Chun’s web page after I posted the quesiton, too. I posted this question to a couple of lists and got various replys, many just suggesting to dilute to the consistency of tea. I appreciate your more specific directions! Your article mentioned a 10% (1:10?) dilution for soaking. Is that too strong – or is the 1:50 or 1:100 as strong as it should be for soaking? Andy Highfield on the tortoise trust list noted this morning that povidone-iodine can damagae soft tissue and suggested “dilute chlorhexidine” as an alternative. Do you have any experience with that? I have been using Jungle brand “Fungus Eliminator” crystals which do seem to help. Is the strength recommended on the bottle for fish use appropriate for turtle use? Could the concentration be increased safely for a turtle with obvious problems? This particular product is: sodium chloride, nitrofurazone, furazolidone, potassium dichromate. How about the strenth for Malachite Green for turtle use? I have a product called “Quick Cure” for fish ick that is: “A ‘Tri-chelated’ formula of 99.20% Formaldehyde, .75% Malachite Green. Use one drop per gallon of water daily.” Is that strong enough for turtle use? Are there any fish products to avoid with turtles? Thanks, Todd Scott wrote:
