Rick, I’m definitely not the expert, but my limited research on the subject suggests that jet black is not a skin color associated with ornates in their true range. Dark gray, maybe. Although integration with the sometimes jet black Mississippi dbt along its northwestern borders could possibly result in jet black skin color in their northwestern ranges, I suppose. While we’re on the subject of identification, what do you think of Gary’s baby M.t. littoralis? You’ve hatched a lot of texans, Rick, have you ever seen any texans with markings like that?
