Hi, I have a 125 gallon tank. (6’L x 1.5’W x 2’H) I have 2 adult Texas Diamondback Terrapins in there. They are right around 10 years old. I was wondering if I could put my two hatchling Texas DBT’s in there with them or would they bother the hatchlings? Thanks!

Attachments : Yikes, don’t do it. Wait until their older they are just too small could make a nice snack. Sometimes terrapins sleep very close to each other on the bottom of the tank, an older one could fall asleep pinning a small one and drowning it. Many things could happen. Please wait until the little guys are older, I would not risk it. Hi, I too agree it would be to dangerous to the hatchlings to put them in with the adults. If you keep the hatchlings separate in a year they should be around 4 inches then they can go in with the adults. Good Luck Jonathan Lisa Lee

I guess you’ve probably heard enough, but I, too, would worry. I put my hatchling with my juvenile and the bigger one bit the small one in the tail almost right away. I’m waiting til they are closer to the same size to try it again! Nicolebinster_11
