Hello, I forgot to ask….if the diamondbacks that I purchase have been raised in freshwater do I need to gradually add salt in order for them to adapt slowly? or can i just put them in the brackish tank? thanks again, Mike
Why introduce them to saltwater? I have raised them in freshwater only…although if I noticed any skin problems I would treat them in salt water. However if you have had these since hatchlings and they have been always acclimated to fresh water…it makes it alot easier to continue keeping them in a fresh water environment. I wont buy a hatchling that has been raised in brackish water. RCFTX —————————————————-This mailbox protected from junk email by Matadorfrom MailFrontier, Inc. http://info.mailfrontier.com
I read that they are best kept in a brackish evironment. Almost everywhere that I have gotten information suggest that a brackish tank is the best. — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “Richard Hollander”
