Well, it has happened. The Crab Pot Clan (two of the four) have a fungus …. DANG IT!!! I have worked very hard to do things right, but I guess this will give me some more knowledge. So … now here’s the question … I tried using the Betadine treatment (soak in Betadine and use Betadine ointment). I tried water changes, watching salt content, etc … I have monitored and been very meticulous and clean (filters, water, etc). No luck … it stayed in spite of my best efforts. The next thing I could find was use Acriflavine … I bought some on the web (no one local had it) and just got it yesterday. Also, I bought Aqua-Sol which is for, after getting it and reading the label, fresh water treatment of various fugus and bacteria. So … can anyone tell me if Aqua-Sol (a copper based med) is safe for these guys? Also, has anyone had luck with Acriflavine? And what other ideas might you have for me. How long can you dry dock them safely? Yes, they have fully lit basking areas and use them. They are all eating very well. They show no other signs of being ill at all. Just the creepy white stuff on their “arm pits”, knees and bottoms of their feet. They seem to have no other ailments and look very happy otherwise. Also, I find it odd that only the two brown marked ones have it. The grey, white lipped ones do not. Thanks for any insight.
