I had three hatchlings living in a 75 gallon tank. One of the hatchlings kept snapping at the others feet. I have removed the problem turtle from the large tank and he currently resides in a 10 gallon tank. I guess I will keep him there for about 5 months and hope that when I reintroduce him back into the larger tank he will no longer bite his tank mates. Has anyone used this separation method to alleviate this problem, and if so how effective is it?
I have tried several different things and seperation or introducing the bitter to other group of turtles. Re-introducing them after 5 months should be a good enough mount of time. I will say I am very suprised that you are having them problem with keeping only 3 dbts in a tank as big as 75 gallons. I see this a lot when they are kept in 10 or 20 gallon tanks.
