Hi all, I noticed two of my ornate yearlings, one male, one female have a small blister just below their bottom lip or should I say mouth. I was kind of hoping they had a fight over food or something. I’m not sure I would call it a blister either it may be just a discolored patch of skin. One worse than the other. No other sores on any parts of their bodies. Any suggestions should I treat it with something just in case it is fungal or wait a few days. I may be able to photograph it, not sure, it’s small. But I will do that If someone thinks it would be easier to identify. I will try to get a shot of the worst one and place it in my phots file under Lisa’s terrapins. Thanks for any help. Lisa
Lisa…I have had some experience with this….One of my terrapins developed a little cyst between its nostrils and eye…I immediately dry docked him…and treated it with betadine wash initially then a drop of iodine. Repeating the process a couple of times a day. Within a week it was significantly better and few days later all healed with no scar. He was returned to my pond thereafter and has after two years shown no signs of any further problem.
