I have tried puffers in a brackish system wit dbts. They hover around to tease the dbts and are quick to escape the snap but loose some of the tail fin most times. They could only loose so much tail fin before they were without a tail or a method of escaping quickly. It did not take long from there. I have not tried the archers, scats, or others. I just stuck with the cichlids. You might try tiger minnows. They are common in the shallows with macrospilotas. They are a large Gambusia sp. similar to platties but much faster an more active. BBM
