brackish or freshwater?

Hi, I’m a new member and new to dback husbandry. I have 2 juvies a northern and a ornate. I’ve read so much conflicting info on wether to keep them in brackish or fresh water. The breeder I purchased them from said fresh is fine, but alot of the info I’ve read makes me unsure.If I did go to brackish setup,I’ve read that you have to give them access to freshwater to drink, is this true? If yes whats the easiest way to go about that.On the salt I’ve read you can use table salt,rock salt or marine salt is there one thats better?One final thing whats the correct ratio for salt per gallon of water?Thanks so much for any information available.
