so i wish i still had my turtle but maybe another time i can get one. maybe not a dbt though, something with a little less maintinence. they all have quite a bit, but the dbt, i was told after she died, is not for beginners. so maybe i’ll try something else. or maybe i won’t look for turtles anymore. they are pretty costly. but they are also pretty cute too…ok, i’m done whining. tye 🙂

I just received by first 2 dbts a few weeks ago and I’m happy to say that they are doing great. This is my first foray into aquatic turtles and I credit my success so far to a few things. First, they were purchased from a breeder from this group (thanks again Rick). I have never had any success from any animals bought in pet stores. Second, research. I bought books, surfed the web, joined this list, etc. I wanted to know everything there is to know about dbt’s. And I spent 2 months setting up my tank just right. (I think anyway). I may have been lucky so far but that’s what I credit my success to. Good luck in whatever you decide.
