Last month-end, he’s left eye had some ‘yellow thing’, but next day the ‘yellow thing’ was gone. But few days later, he’s right eye had same problem, however, this time the ‘yellow thing’ still here and is inside the right eye! Can anyone tell me what is that? And what should I do? Please help me, thanks in deep. Please see the pic. http://hk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/hkclau01/detail?. dir=4afa&.dnm=d0f8.jpg &.src=ph

Attachments : Claudia, I would start precautions now. Separate him and start treating with acriflavin or pimafix . It is hard to see in the pic, but their are some very serious bacterial and viral infections that start around the eye in terrapins. Do you have any meds on hand for infections? You will need to soak and dock. Let us know what med you can obtain or already have. Usually, viral however as I have found yellow on the skin can also be bacterial. So to have a med for both would be good. Mine developed yellow above the eye near the eye lid and it ended up being very serious. So I think you should treat quickly as a precaution.Lisa ——-Original Message——- From: Claudia Date: 08/21/05 08:45:16 To: diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com Subject: [diamondbackterrapins] Can anyone help my DBT BB? I’m sorry, it’s extremely difficult to see anything concrete at the picture’s resolution. Is there any way for you to use a higher resolution digital camera? How is its behavior and appetite? Sorry, I don’t have other pictures, cause so hard to take picture and the ‘yellow thing’ is inside his right-eye. His behavior and appetite are normal, only the right-eye is swell. Attachments : Claudia, it is really hard to see in the pic. I would keep treating daily until it goes away with soaks, or you can treat your tank. The yellow is isolated and not spreading am I correct, but it did reapear. Just watch the eye closely if the area gets bigger or the eye lid swells you will need to treat more aggressively.
