I could really used some help here. I have tried smelt, snails, live worms, shrimp, clams, live goldfish, dead goldfish and pellets, and she still refuses to eat. She does not even seem interested. Could it be that her body is telling her that its still time to sleep? Should I consider cooling her down and waking her up with the rest of the group? I have force fed her 3 times, I could continue until her weight increases slightly and then cool her down. I have started deworming her. Any suggestions? thanks Julie Tougas Montreal,Quebec
Julie, i was just thinking about this turtle of yours today and was going to ask you.did you ever get the silversides? or the (nutritionally bankrupt) dried krill? live fiddler crabs? you could cool her for a while (few weeks) and then warm her but i would not engage in any “full hibernation” temps i have some turts which do respond to this ( i don’t hibernate at all) they usually show interest in live fish after a few weeks of lowered but not cold temperatures -rob Julie Tougas
