#ygrps-yiv-1399087219 p {margin:0;}I was planning on tackling this issue this Spring, because I knew it was coming, but my female dbt just dropped her first clutch of eggs into the water already. I have my male and female dbt’s in a 175gal tank with some african cichlids, and they all do well together, but now my female is ready to lay eggs! I was planning on building a supported sand pit tub, 20x20x8″deep, to replace the floating basking ramp I have now. I thought I read about doing that. However, now I can’t find any of the sites on the web that showed that, where I had seen them before. I read about one person who took her female out when she saw her frantically swimming and scratching, (yes I saw mine that – I thought she was just sick of the male’s advances), and placed her in her box turtle enclosure. I don’t have that. Any suggestions? If I could just take her out and watch her dig in a big sand box, mark where she left her eggs, and then put her back, that’d be great, but something tells me that it wouldn’t be so easy. It would be nice not to have to build a big, supported tub in the aquarium, though. Thanks for any input,Kate in California
