This is great!!! I have a female (Groucho) who came into our rescue 4 years ago. She was pulled out NYC Chinatown fish market 21 years ago and kept all that time in a ten gallon tank of filthy water. (amazing she survived) she had to learn how to swim and walk properly and her plastron was covered in healed rot scars. I also have another female (mottie) that I got out of Chinatown over two years ago. She had endured all the horrible diseases and parasites that so many of these market animals go through. She spent over 14 months in being dry docked for 20 hrs a day and worked on to clear all these conditions. Well BOTH these girls gave me 10 eggs each a few weeks back and most of them are fertile. Groucho’s are definitely the result of a mating to my males as she has been in captivity so long. Mottie’s may be as well but there is still the posibility that her eggs where from stored sperm. Such a nice feeling to see these girls recover and reproduce successfully. Steve
wow, that is so fantastic! congrats to you and both your girls. I can’t imagine having 22 turtles!!Steve
