Okay, first up, I’m pleased with the responces that I got to my musk thread, except I haven’t received any ideas on fish that can be mixed with my DBTs. I currently keep feeder goldfish (which were never eaten, and now looking very nice and fat) with my DBTs and they do a bit of clean up. But I’m sure that I’m not the only one who keeps fish in my tank. I remember reading that a fellow keeper houses “Mosquito fish” with his DBTs. But these sound too small to be able to eat left over chunks of Zoo Med or Aquamax. Does anyone house any larger fish species with their DBTs safely? On a fun note, my trio of DBTs just love knocking around the long blue air stone in my tank for the fish. When I first added it, they literally didn’t leave the thing alone for a day. Secondly, today was the monster clean up day for me. All three Duetto filters, and the pond filter were removed from the tank, and cleaned. All cage furnishings were removed, and cleaned. The gravel substrate was removed, and cleaned. And finally, the 90 gallon tank itself was taken outside, brillo pad scrubbed, hosed down, and cleaned. It was quite the task, but the real annoying part wasn’t the cleaning, but filling the tank back up again.. It makes me glad that the water has to be replaced entirely only monthly. My question would be, what do other members of the list do for clean up? I know not everyone uses fish tanks, but even with the larger tubs, I suspect there’s more strategy involved than tipping a plastic pond, or rubbermaid container over. The hardest part for me is the fill up, because it just takes so long. Does anyone use any devices to suck the water from their set ups?

They’re also very pretty, but some types can get expensive to buy. They also are pretty hardy. I do keep a little salt in my tank, but this doesn’t hurt my fish. I use a 47 gallon fish tank to keep my DBT (and cichlids) in. I use a Fluval 404 filter. I don’t ever drain all the water out at once, as this will upset the undergravel filter I also use and kill my fish. I do partial water changes about once every 4 weeks. I use a vaccuum to clean the gravel. My DBT is still very young, so I figure I may go to a 55 gallon tank when he gets larger. I’m thinking of going the “Viquarium ” route. Does anyone have any experience with this? By the way, I’m looking for another young DBT, so if anyone has pictures of any they are selling, email them to me… _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp
