I have three dbt that are about 2.5″. They were added to my fish tank (40 gallon breeder) that is FULL of vallisneria and has some tetras and various scavengers (loaches, pleco, etc.) I haven’t added any salt to my system yet. I plan to wait until I can find a home for the tetras or until they become food. Anyway my problem is my terrapins seem to have flaky skin. I have never kept turtles before so this may be a stupid question. Are they just shedding or is that a sign of poor water quality? I am sure that my nitrates are somewhat high b/c I don’t have time to trim the plants regularly. Why do you think my terrapins have flaky skin? Just out of curiosity, is anyone keeping scats or archers with their turtles? I plan to get some of those when I make my setup brackish, but not until my turtles get older. Then I can have my mangroves with all my brackish animals to make my “ecosystem”. thanks mike
