So I went to that reptile and amphibian link that is in the bookmark section. I found a great vet in our area and she really was competent. She got some cultures, injected some baytril (the other vet said to put it in her mouth, no luck) and some fluids, and some vitamins. She cleaned Li-wah off and knew exactly what to do. She also took some cultures to find out what it was. I’d almost think she was part of this egroup (but she’s not). Since the appointment, the turtle’s been looking a little better but she’s still lethargic. I think the fluids helped. Now on the odd side, I looked at the turtle’s pond in her enclosure today (the pond is self contained so there is no runoff problem) and MOST of the fish were dead, too. I wonder if a group of the local college students got into our backyard and poured beer in the pond…we’re professors so it wouldn’t be impossible. We also found some firework shells in our backyard near the pond. Really odd.
