I was sent this article link from Pat in the MATTS group and figured it was of interest to everyone here and would forward it. It is always great to hear about terrapin’s being saved instead of eaten. My only wish is that these hatchlings could have been raised in captivity until they were large enough to have a better chance at survival. I know it’s not always possible but even with the care given in this release, odds are that only a couple will survive from predators compared to a 3″ or 4″ terrapin. Still, that is nature and it’s hard to say when we should interfere. I guess when we have so much negative impact we sometimes have to step in and try to reverse it when we can. -Scott — From matts_members@yahoogroups.com, “Pat” http://www.southcoasttoday.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070830/NEWS/708300341
