Hi Chun! I didn’t give it much thought because I saw it in person but now that you mention it – it does need a little clarification! 2/3 of the bin holds your water and the other 1/3 is where you can put substrate for basking and laying of eggs. The ramp is grooved for footing. It is made out of some type of composite which is easy to clean and is attractive. Pete plans on having more sizes available. Hi, I think the setup would work for spotted turtles but I don’t think it is deep enough for diamondbacks.
