Just out of curiosity, I was wondering what everyone’s preference in gloves are for handling the dbts. I take my dbts out of the tank every evening and put them in a another tank for feeding. Using bare hands is certainly possible if you don’t mind those dbt’s powerful rear leg claws constantly digging into your hands. But, if you get an ingrown nail in your finger or thumb, putting your bare hands into an aquarium is not a great thing to do because of the possibility of getting a bacterial infection. I know that there is anti-bacterial soap and I know that there is anti-bacterial gel that can be used afterwards. I have been buying those yellow rubber gloves that they sell in the grocery store. But they have some drawbacks such as being a bit short for deep tanks which causes water to get into the gloves and they will only last so long before tearing. Those clear plastic surgical gloves that only cover the hands that they sell at the hardware store let the water in and arn’t thick enough to protect you from the dbt’s rear claws. Anyone found the perfect solution to these problems? Anyone seen rubber gloves that go past the elbows? Bob
