#ygrps-yiv-1980764159 p {margin:0;}I just joined this e-group, because I have been researching aquatic turtles and have decided to get a diamondback terrapin. I am an art teacher who has always been a naturalist at heart. I have 2 dogs, 1 ball python, an outdoor bird feeder, and 8 thriving aquariums, one of which I will dedicate to the terrapin, when I find the right one for me. As a kid I had the regulation RES turtle bowl, and then a tortoise, which we unfortunately killed with a shovel when it was hibernating one year! (I realize that this is not the best time of year to be shopping for a diamondback terrapin, and it may take awhile.) It is great to find so much wonderful information on the internet! Thanks,Kate in San Francisco Bay Area.

Hello Kate in San Fran! Judging from your past experience and dedication to your other pets, I’m sure you will be fantastic “turtle mom”. DBT’s are one of the coolest turtles out there and there are several excellent Breeders in this Group. Hopefully, one of them will post and let you know if they have any available now (maybe some juveniles). AustinsTurtlePage.com has a lot of good info if you haven’t checked out that site so far.
