GREEN SPOT! My turtle developed a very small green spot on his shell which I noticed a few weeks ago. I thought it might be related to too much algae on his basking rock. But I purchased a new basking rock and the spot is a little bigger now. Should I be worried about this? How can I make it go away and prevent it? Does it need attention now?? The new basking rock is already turning very green from algae. I just don’t know what to do about it. I would rather not use bleach that could hurt the turtle. What do the rest of you do to prevent this? The filter…. I bought a new filter a couple months ago but I have noticed that the basket that hold the media has started to float up. It pushes the cover of the filter off, and the top media is almost out of the water. I turn off the filter, drain it, and set it up again but it eventually does the same thing. What’s wrong with it???
