hatchling question

I recently purchased a Northern hatchling. For the first week he was very active. After the first week, I purchased a full spectrum basking light. Since then he basks about 90% of the time the light is on. He actually looks like he is dead sometimes, when I wake him up he is sluggish and drowsy. Is this normal. Could it be that he is just so much in need of the UV rays that he can’t get enough of them, thus his lack of concern for anything but basking? BTw, he eats fine and his appearance is fine.
As long as he keeps eating I would not worry that much. Most of my hatchlings bask for most of the day. If he stops eating let us know. Jonathan Scute Mod
