Could anyone reccomend a Terrapin book. I am looking for a good book with a lot of picture(I have 4 kids that are VERY interested in turtles). I would also like to thank all of the members who answered my questions about my terrapin eggs. Great thread, I read every post every day.

The paperback, high-gloss stock “Map Turtles and Diamondback Terrapins” book by W. P. Mara is still probably the most colorful and readily available general intro. book to dbts. It’s published by T.F.H and available in many local pet shops as well as on-line. for around $10.00. I think your kids would like watching the New Jersey PBS video “Terrapins” which shows school children releasing yearling dbts hatched from eggs saved from road-killed females. The video even includes a classroom segment showing the kids baking turtle-shaped cookies to sell to raise money for dbt conservation. Who could resist? And where did they get that big turtle-shaped cookie cutter? I want one! Todd in Texas Matt wrote:
