Hi everyone, I bought a wild-caught texas seven month ago. When i bought it, there was something wrong on his shell. Now i found the situation getting serious. But it is still active and eats a lot everyday. Is it shell rot ? Please tell me what should i do ? See the pictures as follows http://home.pchome.com.tw/mysite/benson_chen63/DSC01023.JPG http://home.pchome.com.tw/mysite/benson_chen63/DSC01025.JPG http://home.pchome.com.tw/mysite/benson_chen63/DSC01026.JPG Thanks BensonYahoo!_____________________________________ __________ __________________ ___
Hi Benson, It is not shell rot. It is what we call shell haze and we even had a discussion about it several months back. Not real sure what the cause is – mineral deposits seem to be the most often suggested cause and Silvadene cream was also offered as a solution. At any rate, it does not affect the turtle’s health and is merely a temporary cosmetic defect that will likely disappear at the next shed. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com,
