Hi everyone! I’m looking to purchase a lager tank for my three hatchling turtles (not dbt’s 🙁 ) I was thinking of a 40 gallon breeder tank so i can add lots of hiding places for my mud turtle and my softshell turtle, and a large basking area for my redbelly turtle. what size tank would you choose for these 2 inch hatchlings? and your opinion , do you think a dbt could live with these freshwater turtles? Thanks for your help!!!! 🙂 —- Andrew Get more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

Hi Andrew, A 40 gallon tank would be adequate for the turtles as hatchlings but you’ll have to upgrade when they’re bigger – especially because of the softshell. A dbt can live in freshwater if it’s a captive bred hatchling raised in fresh, but I’m not gonna guarantee that they’ll be compatible socially! You know those diamondbacks just love to chew on toes… Best of luck. Chun Tail Moderator — In diamondbackterrapins@y…, “Andrew Avila” http://explorer.msn.com
