I found the little scamp this morning! Just like you guys said… dug into the sod right next to my potted hibiscus with just the tip of his carapace showing! He was only about 3 inches from the pond!! Whew! What a relief!! I knew these little guys were stubborn and persistent. I have a small fenced off area in the pond to keep my lily’s from certain doom, and the DBTs will work on climbing that fence for hours. Climb up, fall back, climb up, fall back and on and on and on! One actually made it in there too, and then they couldn’t wait to get back out. I guess I’ll have to pull out the protractor and drafting table and see if I can make the necessary adjustments to the pond set-up. First I’ll have to seperate them and interrogate them individually just to see if their stories match up. This was clearly a group effort… Outwitted by terps… no wonder they’ve been around for millions of years. Anyway, Thanks for the advice and words of encouragement guys! Jeremy

Attachments : Good luck with the interrogation, doubt they’ll talk though. Got to stick up for the other guys. Glad you found him, think we’ve all been there before. Hey Jeremy – that’s awesome! You’re gonna have to post some picks of the little guy and your pond sometime. Cheers. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “jeremy_mott”

Hi Everyone, I have been contacted by someone who found 5 hatchlings through 03′ along different roads in South Jeresy. They are now getting too big for her to house them. She asked if I knew anyone that would give them a good home. You don’t have to take all 5 of them if you don’t have the room. She lives somewhat near Atlantic City. Please e-mail me off the group if you are interested. Thanks Jonathan Helms http://www.diamondbackterrapin.com diamondbackterrapins@… Diamondback Terrapin World http://www.diamondbackterrapin.com
