Ive had my turtles for over two years now but now I have to move to a new place where i cant keep the turtles, I can keep one and put it in a smaller tank but having both of them in the Giant 150 gallon tank is too much to lug around and maintain, I was wandering what I should do if there was a place that would take them to or maybe i place i can ask if anyone could care for two diamondbacks, Any feedback would be appreciated.
michaela_mullenFebruary 20, 2009 at 5:50 pm #22395I would offer them up for adoption to a good home to one of the experienced keepers on this group. I know myself and others on here that have adopted from other members when they had to move. I myself have adopted/fostering two for a member on here. Do you know what subspecies they are and sex? michaela_mullenFebruary 20, 2009 at 6:01 pm #22397When are you moving? It tends to be easier to place them when it is warmer out like in spring and summer than in winter. Although diamondbacks tend to get snatch up pretty quickly. If you want your babies to go to an experienced keeper I would see if someone on here can take them. I possibly could but we’d have to wait a couple of months after my baby is born in April and I have the new setups built. Michaela — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “millonida”
BOOFebruary 20, 2009 at 6:22 pm #22398I’d be interested in taking them depending on where you are located.
millonidaFebruary 20, 2009 at 6:24 pm #22399Im moving in the beginning of April, Ive did everything in my power to keep the turtles since moving to my apartment in Sacramento, finding a newer place after that and then this one, after this one I cant find a way to keep my babies. Alot of the newer apartments dont want a Tank this big inside. — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “michaela_mullen”
michaela_mullenFebruary 20, 2009 at 6:50 pm #22400How long is your lease for on the new apt? If you want you can email me directly to talk how you could keep these guys … maybe we can work something out. MY EMAIL : Firetrac311@… Also where are you located….. maybe one of the members on here lives close to you and wouldn’t mind fostering them till you found a better situation in which you could take them back. JoeyFebruary 20, 2009 at 11:10 pm #22401I have an empty tank. Well it has some comets in it, but it is looking for a turtle. If you live close to SC I would take them . — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “millonida”
