Okay, I hate to admit this, but I’m totally stumped on this… How in the HECK does a person identify the different sub-species of the DBTs? I’ve looked at books and books, magazines, etc., and the scutes/plastron all look the same to me. I can see color differences, but you can’t always tell by that. I have Northerns and they both have different coloring/patterns. I know I can’t be the only one out there with this problem. (I’ve talked to a few others who won’t be named.) I would appreciate any help on this subject or even where to find this information. BTW – I had 11 babies (I think all northern) who hatched and are doing great. They’re a month old now and getting bigger. Take a look at my pictures under the Tortmom folder. These are the babies I’m trying to identify as northerns (for sure).
