Hello group, My name is Tim. My girlfriend and I have recently rescued two extremely cute DBTs from the Delaware Bay in New Jersey. As a kid I was alwasy catching Box turtles, but they always managed to escape! 🙂 All that to say, I love turtles and actually count it quite a priviledge to look after two Hatchlings. Ultimately, we plan to set them free after they reach maturity. My question is, apart from a filter problem is the any reason that any of you have encountered the surface of the water in their habitat became oily? I seem to have a very strange problem…I’ve changed the water, and it seems to be becoming oily again. Thanks for any advice you can offer me. Tim
Hi Tim, What are you feeding them? Thanks JonathanTim
Hi again Jonathan,Well first of all I feed them outside the aqarium. But I bought some frozen shrimp cubes and some other cubes with varuious veggies and worms and other fun stuff in them. I chop the cubes up, cause i figure they’re a bit big for two tiny hatchlings to eat. Tim
