IS ROCK CORAL A GOOD IDEA?

i was wondering if using rock coral in a tank would be a good idea. i figured it would be a good place for her to hide and provide a more natural setting. what do you think. also, rock coral is dead and therefore doesn’t take any maintainance….right?
You mean crushed rock coral? Many people use that as part of a substrate. They mix it with sand or gravel. It helps keep the alkalinity up and allows for surface area for bacteria growth , so it is a good thing in general. If you mean rock coral in large pieces, you must be careful of sharp edges. But ecept perhaps in extreme south florida there are probably not two many habitats where diamondbacks dwell with contain any large amounts of coral, so i don’t think the “natural” thing is going to work there. -rob nikkicoco11 wrote:
