Mark, I apologize if I offended you. My defense is a lot simpler you think. I absolutely object to any one paying any price for any turtle. I have been involved with turtle rescue for a few years now, and I know nobody should pay for any kind of turtle when you can get anything you want at a Turtle Rescue. I have about 30 water turtles, 11 different species including DBTs and I didn’t pay a dime for them. I have tortoises that I got for free. Thousands, maybe tens of thousands of turtles are living in Turtle Rescues across the Nation and you can adopt them for free. You might have to search a little or wait a little to get the more exotic species, but patience is free. I got my DBTs for free from Turtlehomes. I have 11 Box Turtles, 4 different species, got’em for free. I have tortoises…got’em for free. So that’s my message….get’em for free at a Turtle Rescue… there’s one close to you. So Mark, if you want to spend your time and energy digging through (your quote..just ugly DBT’s) you keep digging, and charging for everything you do to rehab them. I am proud to work at a turtle rescue where we never saw an ugly turtle, we don’t charge to rehab them and we don’t charge to adopt them.
so instead of knocking people who sell salvaged diamondbacks, why don’t u do something productive and spend ur energy posting salvaged diamondbacks for adoption since “u can get anything u want at turtle rescues?” i am sure lots of people on this forum would love to hear of diamondbacks that can be adopted for free or for a minimal adoption fee.
