How much UVB and UVA do terrapins need? Do they need both UVA and UVB?Thanks. Chester
Get a heat-emitting basking bulb (100W) and a special clamping fixture for the UVA. You MUST have a separate UVB bulb for proper absorption of Vitamin D3. Place it over the basking area and have both lights on 10-12 hours a day. Make sure there is nothing between the bulbs and the turtle (like a plastic cover on the flourescent (UVB) fixture.
