My diamondbacks love live brine shrimp and black worms which for the smaller ones is fine ~ the cost involved with adults could get pretty expensive!! My adults love jumbo meal worms and night crawlers. nikkicoco11 wrote:

Live food can bring in unwanted bacteria that can be harmful to you terrapins. With that said I know a lot of people that have keep goldfish with their terrapins and haven’t had any problems. My terrapins have never really been able to catch them. Does this apply to ALL live food? Or just feeder fish? I’ve never had any trouble with brine shrimp ~ black worms or meal worms. I use everything up in a couple of days and keep the black worms well rinsed. Now I’m not sure if I’m playing with danger! Jonathan Helms wrote:

Brine shrimp, blackworms and mealworms are ok. Definitely stay away from crayfish. Feeder fish do carry bacteria sometimes that wipes out entire shipments but these are easily detected by the number of dead floating around as well as the clamped fins, fungus on the body, etc. -Chun — In diamondbackterrapins@y…, Tom & Sharon Paquette
