Attachments : Marsh periwinkles are gastropods – small marine snails and are one of the primary food sources of diamondbacks in the wild. Being most closely related to the Map turtles (also family Emydidae) they use their powerful crushing jaws to eat snails. I’m aware that wild terrapins also take crustaceans but they are primarily molluskavores in the wild. Attached is a pic of two of the primary gastropods eaten by ornate diamondbacks in Tampa Bay Florida. Christopher
