Hello All, I’m posting to ask if anyone else is having issues with reptileUV. I bought a bulb from them a couple months ago, and two weeks ago, the bulb went out after about 1.5 months use. I did everything as instructed and never moved the bulb. As the bulb was still under warranty, I was going to send it back to get a new one. That is where my problem begins. I don’t mind paying the shipping to send it back (though even that seems unfair) but I do care that they want me to send another $10 to cover the shipping return. I don’t think it’s fair to ask me to spend that much money for a defective product. I have been trying to reach them the last two weeks. I’ve emailed multiple times and I called everyday for a week straight. I am not getting any sort of response even after leaving multiple messages. I would just like to know if anyone out there is having the same problems with the site. I’m becoming very frustrated, and I would just like to know your thoughts. Thanks! -Miguel

Hi everyone,I purchased a bulb from them a couple of months ago and have not received it. They’ve ignored all my emails as well. Their customer service (being non-existent) is what I find most upsetting. I would like to dispute on Paypal but it’s been over two months so I don’t know what actions I can take? Very frustrating. Thanks for your comments everyone. I am sad to hear that everyone is experiencing the same thing. I knew about the longevity problem that they had posted and so I was sympathetic to the fact that they may be busy. Though after two weeks of repeated phone calls and emails, I would have greatly appreciated at least an email back indicating they had recieved my messages. I am very dissapointed as the bulbs they sold were one-of-a-kind when properly working. I guess I will wait a week more and hope for the best. After that, I will have to dispute the charge with paypal and buy my little turtle a new bulb. I shall look into the Exo Terra that was suggested. Again, thank you all for your input. Much appreciated. Miguel

The problem is not in China. The problem lies with Bob still readily accepting money for a product he knows he cannot deliver. While his company may be facing a financial crisis, it would be nice for Bob to remain loyal to his customers by answering emails, phone calls, and addressing concerns. Clearly, he is not providing this. No matter how awesome this company was in the past, the way things are being handled now (during a crisis) is a big eye opener and what appears to me as a lack of integrity on their part. I still have yet to receive a bulb or an answered email…, and have just placed a dispute in with paypal (thank you for the advice). I purchased the Zoo Med Powersun and am interested in learning more from others here regarding proper lighting. What Craziness! ๐ Karen

Let me join in on the crowd…………..ReptileUV has gone in the dumper!!! I have been one of their biggest supporters over the years, but no more. Bob’s reputation is toast and there is NO excuse for abusing all their long term customers this way…………..their customer service is a complete joke!!! Here’s a link to TF about the mega-ray bulbs: http://www.turtleforum.com/forum/upload/index.php?showtopic=133818 It is very sad. They talk a good game if you take the time to watch all their videos on their web site, but all Bob is doing now days is blowing smoke up everyones rear ends. I have been unable to find anyone else that makes a UVB bulb with an external ballast, which in my opinion, is the way to go in the long run since the main problem with all these high priced bulbs is the filament breaking or failing way to early……………the External Ballast bulbs have no filament, so they should still be putting out decent UVB for 18 months or longer with no worries of a early burn out due to the stupid filaments busting. I would love to give some of my money to anyone that can make a bulb like the old MegaRay’s used to be, but I can’t find anyone that currently makes one???
