I just got a male diamondback. He is jet black all over and has a mustash I was told it was a northern diamond back I have a northern that is verry ligh with green brown and yellow, can any one help me with this
Jet black shells are very typical on male northerns. Dark skin and a moustache would also be what I would call the normal or typical for a northern. Other colors are less common amongst wild populations. With all of the wildcaught Chesapeakes (northerns) on the market this spring, we have had a chance to see the tremendous range of beautiful colors amongst the wild populations. Dark phases are by far the most common as observed amongst the fish market catches. Toddmaryann
