Hi all, Chun felt we should have a photo for our home page and he liked this one. It is a photo of my pink headed baby hatched summer of 2000. She was incubated for female and at 6 mos. appears to one. She is a Macrospilota. Vickie
Vickie, Beautiful specimen. Is it an albino version of a dbt? How did you determine the sex so early? My 3 northerns at 1 1/2 years have relatively short and thin tails with a rather dramatic taper to thin from the edge of the shell. Also, the tip of the tail does not extend beyond the rear legs when the legs are extended. Those are my reasons for why mine are probably females. Bob
Well, I am guessing by tail shape and a bit body shape. Females seem to be “taller” in the shell than males. It is not an albino just one of my thin skinned pink headed dbts. I have the dad and 2 female offspring. There are photos in my folder in our group files. Vickie
