New size for waterland tubs

Hi all, I just got word that Pete will be making new, larger size waterland tubs. The current size is 55″x25″x12″, which is too small for diamondbacks. The new size he is making will be 84″x36″x26″ with 12″ to 14″ of water. I think this is a good size, but the length is a little too long, don’t you think? That’s 7 feet long! Well, I guess I should speak for myself, I don’t have the space for it. He said he will make it down to 70″ in length if he gets a large response requesting that. If you think 70″ is better, please drop him (Pete) a note at waterlandtubs@… If he gets enough response, it will become his first priority and the product will be available for sale by Spring. If not, he will not be making the 70″ for a long time. I am really interested in the 70″ one, so if you agree, please let him know. If you haven’t seen how these tanks look like, just email him and ask. It is made of 1/3 land area and 2/3 water. Thanks, -James

Pete also is going to be bringing out a top for the tubs so that the turtles can’t climb up and possibly crawl out. It will just be a edge cap from my understanding. He didn’t say when that was to happen but it sounded like soon. I love these tubs of his but do agree that the size he has out right now maybe a little too shallow for an adult dbt. We’re looking at the size he has right now for some of our baby turtles. I think James may be right in a 7′ being a little large for the homeowner type set up. The stores are having a field day with these set ups and I can see a 7′ being great for them. You’ve made a good point and I will be talking with Pete soon as to the response he is getting.
