I have finaly found and ordered 2 turtles, I settled on to Northern DBT’s; although i am still interested in Chesapeakes if anyone knows anything about them or has some. I am very excited, I bought a forty gallon breeder tank, a biowheel filter (it is very nice and actualy came with an extension for lower water in turtle tanks), and a 150 watt heater. I also baught 1, 150 watt day-glow heat lamp, and 1, 100 watt black heat lamp for night. The only problem i am having is that I can not find a way to get my heater all the way submerged. Should I build a basking spot outside of the tank and raise the watter level, or keep my basking rocks inside my tank? Also how long should I keep my lamps on? What tempritures should i be trying to get from my lamps during the day and at night? Do they have to be on all day/night I am worried that they may cause a fire. Thanks for your help everybody. ๐
