new terrapin owner

Hi all! I have quite a few questions… If you have your terrapin in brackish water, how often do u put it in freshwater? My turtle is about a month old so I just started mixing salt into the water. Secondly, he sleeps ALL the time. Is this normal for hatchlings? I didn’t know if it had anything to do with the salt water because he isn’t used to it. I also noticed that he has been opening his mouth very wide… like a yawn. I read on one site that if the turtles start breathing thru their mouths it’s not a good sign… so I was just curious.
