Christene
Hi Everyone: I am getting my first dbt on Saturday and after reading all of the posts I wanted to get some advice. I will be putting him/her in a tank with other hatchling turtles (all freshwater). The water is about 85 to 90 degrees. Lots of full spectrum light. Heavily filtered water (crystal clear). I feed my hatchlings twice a day on krill, Reptomin, several different types of turtle diets, guppies, even frozen crickets ( they eat in a separate container and I watch them eat-I’m a little anal-I know). Should I have anything else ready for him when he arrives? Does it sound like I have the proper setup for him. I am hoping he just fits right in but I am hearing that these guys are not as easy to keep as “regular” turtles. Any advice is very much appreciated!!! Thanks, Christene PS: Robin, I took your advice and am getting my “baby” from Rick. He’s a nice guy-thanks for the recommendation! — Christene Mitchell turtle99@… “A turtle only makes progress when it sticks out its neck…” __ /@@ _____ _/

The water seems a bit hot. I think 78-80F is more appropriate. Julie Christene wrote:

Hi all, I am curious what other turtles are being kept successfully with dbt’s. I keep mine by themselves at the moment but am just curious what combos seem to work for others.
