Have any of you Texans out there heard anything about new regulations banning the harvesting of diamondbacks in the Lone Star state? If so, I wonder what kind of repercussion it will have on private ownership and breeding? -Stephen C

Stephen C, I apologize for not being able to add anything constructive to this topic. I was wondering though, I live in Florida, Is it illegal for me to own Terrapins here? Mine are captive bred and I bought from breeders out of state. Any information is much appreciated. Thomas

Thomas, You may want to look into getting permits for your terrapins. Florida laws allow for possession of 2 but it’s unclear whether this is per person or per household, although I think it’s per person. Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to breed them and may open yourself up to annual inspections from Fish & Wildlife. -Stephen C — In diamondbackterrapins@yahoogroups.com, “skeebo1969”
